Description

The Faro di Bonavita was born from vineyards located in the villages of Faro Superiore and Curcuraci, in the province of Messina, in the heart of north-eastern Sicily.

It is produced with grapes of the autochthonous Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Nocera varieties, harvested by hand between the first and second ten days of October. The must ferments partly in steel and partly in large oak barrels, with long maceration on the skins that can even reach 60 days. Refinement takes place over 24 months between oak and steel barrels, and for at least 10 months in the bottle before being placed on the market.

At sight it has a bright ruby red color. It releases lively hints of mulberry and Mediterranean scrub, with pleasant hints of wet earth and graphite. On the palate it is complex, vibrant and structured, with a long spicy closure.

Perfect in the company of roasts and red meats, it goes well with game and aged cheeses.
