Description

What kind of wine it is

Faro by Le Casematte is a red wine made from Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Nocera and Nero d'Avola grapes, ruby red in color with a balanced, fruity taste.

Where it comes from

It originates in vineyards set in the landscape of the Strait of Messina, in the locality of Faro Superiore.

How it's made

The grapes are hand-harvested starting from the third week of September. After fermentation, the wine ages in French oak barrels for nine months and then for a further six months in bottle.

Tasting notes

It shows a ruby-red color. On the nose it opens with pleasant sensations of ripe red fruit, enriched by notes of pepper and nutmeg. On the palate it is balanced and fruity, with closely knit, elegant tannins. The finish is long and persistent.

What it pairs with

Perfect with grilled red meats and game, it is also ideal with fine poultry and aged cheeses.

When to serve it

Its structure makes it suitable to accompany hearty dishes, particularly the ones mentioned.
