Description

Brancato is a Fiano di Avellino Riserva from Tenuta Calvalier Pepe, made from Fiano grapes grown on the hillside vineyards of the Lapio area in Campania, on clay-loam soils with a marl base, which are particularly suited for producing elegant and long-lived wines.

The grapes are hand-harvested at full ripeness and carefully selected, then pressed whole; the free-run must is cold-settled prior to fermentation, which takes place partly in French oak barriques and partly in stainless steel at low temperatures, followed by a maturation period both in wood and steel and then further refined in the bottle.

It displays a bright straw yellow color with golden reflections; on the nose, it offers a broad bouquet with notes of ripe and tropical fruit, accompanied by mineral hints, hawthorn blossom, and nuances of candied fruit with a subtle toasted touch; on the palate, it is elegant, full-bodied and well balanced, with a pleasant acidity and a persistent, spicy finish.

It pairs harmoniously with structured fish dishes, shellfish, white meats, cheeses, and preparations with intense flavors.
