Description
What kind of wine it is
Franciacorta Rosé Nature ‘61 by Berlucchi is a Franciacorta Rosé made from pure Pinot Nero, sourced from the estate vineyards of Ragnoli, Quindici Piò, and Gaspa. The base wine ferments in steel tanks, and a small portion is vinified as a red wine with maceration; the cuvée then continues with the Classic Method and a prolonged aging on the lees. The result is a balanced style, offering pronounced freshness and a clear mineral character.
Where it comes from
This wine is produced on the Berlucchi estates in Franciacorta, from Pinot Nero grapes grown in the Ragnoli, Quindici Piò, and Gaspa estate vineyards. Specifying these plots gives a precise origin in line with the concept of a rigorously styled rosé. The cuvée is made exclusively from wines of the same vintage, confirming a production choice focused on stylistic continuity.
How it is produced
Harvesting takes place in the second ten days of August. After gentle pressing, the musts ferment in steel vats and mature for about six months on the lees. A small portion of Pinot Nero is vinified as a red wine with about seven days of fermentation maceration; in spring, the cuvée is blended, and the wine undergoes the second fermentation in the bottle according to the Classic Method, with aging on the lees for at least five years and a further six months after disgorgement.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows an abundant and creamy foam and a fine, persistent mousse; the color is peach blossom pink with coral highlights. The nose features notes of blueberry intertwined with subtle citrus hints. On the palate, a marked mineral sensation stands out, supported by precise freshness that accompanies and defines the tasting experience.
Food pairings
This Franciacorta Rosé Nature is suitable throughout the meal, designed to complement substantial appetizers, fish main courses, white meats, and medium-aged cheeses. Its freshness and mineral aspect make it a great match where balance and a clean finish matter, while the creamy mousse supports a continuous sipping experience at the table.
When to serve it
Perfect for full lunches and dinners, thanks to its balanced profile that follows the various courses with consistency. The long aging on the lees and rest after disgorgement add to its fine and orderly texture, ideal when looking for a technical rosé with pronounced freshness and a clear mineral imprint, maintaining a consistent mousse and precise drinkability.
