Description

Gavi "Le Marne" by Michele Chiarlo is a white wine made from Cortese grapes grown on clay-marl soils, in hilly terrain influenced by the proximity of the Ligurian Sea and the Apennine mountains, which help create a unique microclimate. The harvest is manual, preceded by a careful selection of the bunches to ensure the quality and health of the grapes.

Vinification involves partial cold maceration followed by gentle pressing and fermentation with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. Ageing takes place on its own lees for several months, always in steel, a technique that allows the aromatic freshness of the grape variety to be preserved and the wine to be enriched with greater complexity and balance.

It presents a straw yellow color with brilliant greenish highlights. On the nose, it offers an elegant and fresh bouquet with notes of Golden apple, acacia flowers, citrus, and delicate hints of bread crust. On the palate, it is crisp and well-structured, with a pleasant roundness and marked savouriness that leads to a long and harmonious finish.

Ideal with carpaccio of meat and fish, sushi, spaghetti with clams, and grilled fish.
