Description
Garde de Bonpas from the Bonpas estate is a red wine made from Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan grapes grown on limestone slopes and stony soils in the Grignan-lès-Adhémar appellation. The name of the estate derives from “Bon passage,” referring to the safe crossing of the Durance River, which once connected Rome to Avignon.
The varieties are fermented together in temperature-controlled vats at 24°C. Oxygen management and extraction techniques at this temperature promote balance and elegance. The wine is aged exclusively in stainless steel tanks to preserve the aromatic freshness and soft tannic structure.
It appears brilliant red with violet highlights. The bouquet is expressive, with notes of fresh red fruits and delicate spices. On the palate, it is balanced and rich, with flavors of light spices and blackcurrant, supported by silky tannins and a soft, round structure.
Ideal with roast pork with thyme or meatloaf.
