Ischia Bianco Biologico 2016 Bajola
Description
Bajola produces natural wines on the island of Ischia, in Campania. Directly from those impervious vineyards derives the homonymous white wine, symbol of the company.
It consists of a blend of white berried grapes, including Sauvignon Blanc, Vermentino, Malvasia delle Lipari and Incrocio Manzoni. Non-native varieties, therefore, which were planted years ago with the intention of expressing the marine and special terroir of the island of Ischia. In order to preserve the territory and the vine, the Bajola winery grows its grapes according to a biodynamic agriculture method. The wine ages in the presence of its fine lees inside concrete tanks.
It has a golden yellow color. The scent is intense and is marked by fruit and citrus, with a nice mineral character as a background. The sip confirms the savory trait and shows off a full body. It closes in a very long persistence which reveals a complex profile.
Perfect to accompany a peppered mussel.
