Description

The striped labels of the Fontanafredda estate are inspired by the non-historical buildings of the village, precisely painted in stripes. The entire line is a journey through the aromas and flavors of the Piedmontese territory. This box contains the three most representative: Barolo, Barbera d'Alba and Roero Arneis.

Barolo is made from Nebbiolo grapes harvested in the Serralunga d'Alba cru. The vinification with aging of 12 months in Allier oak barrels and another 12 months in large barrels returns a ruby red wine with garnet reflections, an intense and defined nose, in which sensations of vanilla, spices and dried rose alternate to scents of the undergrowth. In the mouth it is dry, full and soft, velvety and persistent, to be combined with important red meat dishes and long-aged cheeses, or as a meditation wine.

Barbera d'Alba Raimonda comes from the Langa of Alba, from soils rich in clayey and limestone marl. Fresh from an overall aging of 12 months which takes place partly in large French and Slavonian oak barrels, partly in small French oak barrels, it is endowed in the glass with an intense ruby color that tends to garnet with evolution. On the nose it has a characteristic, floral and fruity scent, with light hints of wood and vanilla to crown it all. On the palate it is broad and persistent, pleasantly velvety, to be served with important first courses, red meats and cheeses.

The Roero Arneis Pradalupo , the only white of the trio, is a wine of extreme care, obtained from free-run must made of a part derived from soft pressing and the remainder from pressing into whole berries, subjected to an aging of 4-5 months on the fine lees at low temperature. The color is straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose recalls exotic fruit, ripe pear, hawthorn and acacia honey. The sip is enveloping and soft, fresh and savory in the aftertaste. Excellent to serve fresh as an aperitif or to combine with fish appetizers and light first courses.
