Description
Cascina Corte's Nebbiolo is a red wine made from a selection of Nebbiolo grapes sourced from various vineyards located at 480 meters above sea level, facing south on the hills of Dogliani. The calcareous and tuffaceous soils, together with the age of the vines ranging from 7 to 21 years, contribute to the complexity and elegance of this wine.
The grapes are harvested by hand between the end of September and the beginning of October. In the cellar, fermentation occurs naturally without the addition of yeasts, with manual punch-downs and no filtration or clarification. The wine ages for 18-20 months in large oak barrels, followed by a further period in the bottle.
In the glass, it shows a garnet red color, slightly lighter at the rim. On the nose, varietal aromas of dried rose, violet, and damp earth emerge, followed by delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is soft and refined, with silky tannins that provide pleasant drinkability and roundness.
Thanks to its versatility, it pairs perfectly with red meats such as braised, stewed, or boiled dishes, but its lively charm also makes it ideal for accompanying the entire meal.
