Description
This Lirac by Victor Berard originates in a fascinating and less-trodden area of the Rhône Valley, a region with a long winemaking tradition dating back to the Middle Ages. Composed of Syrah and Grenache, it showcases the richness of the terroir and the aromatic complexity that characterizes this prestigious appellation.
The vines take root in red clay soils with large pebbles on the terraces, as well as areas of limestone clay and loess. These characteristics give the wine structure and depth. The vinification process pays particular attention to the balance between power and finesse, aiming for an authentic and harmonious expression of the territory.
Visually, it presents a dark and intense red color. The bouquet is complex and enveloping, with notes of cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, enriched by hints of sweet spices, herbs, and leather. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-balanced, with round tannins and an elegant power that leads to a long and satisfying finish.
It pairs perfectly with roast lamb with thyme, honey duck aiguillettes with figs, roasted woodcock with porcini mushrooms, or a platter of cured meats.
