Description
Montecucco Rosso Rigoleto from Collemassari is a Tuscan red wine made from a blend of Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, and Montepulciano. The grapes come from vineyards located at 300 meters above sea level on the hills of Montecucco, in an area characterized by varied exposures and soils composed of fractured sandstone rock and calcareous-marly clays. The vineyard approach enhances the territorial identity and the natural freshness of the wine.
The harvest takes place in several stages, starting with Ciliegiolo, followed by Sangiovese, and finally Montepulciano, to ensure balance and aromatic vibrancy. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel at controlled temperatures to preserve varietal characteristics. Aging continues for 9 months in steel, with a small portion in wooden barrels, before bottling.
It displays an intense ruby red color. On the nose, notes of ripe red fruit stand out, while on the palate it is distinguished by a balance of soft tannins, lively acidity, and good persistence, resulting in a harmonious and pleasantly smooth wine.
It is ideal with cold cuts, roasted white meats, and cured meats.
