Montecucco DOCG Grotte Rosse 2011 Salustri
Description
The Grotte Rosse di Salustri was born in organic vineyards, located on the slopes of Monte Amiata, in the heart of the Maremma.
It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, harvested in late September. Fermentation takes place, with maceration, in oak vats at a temperature of maximum 30 ° C, for about 20 days. Subsequently the wine ages in oak barrels for 24 months, followed by a further 12 months of aging in bottle, before being released on the market.
The Grotte Rosse di Salustri has a bright and bright ruby red color. The nose opens with pleasant hints of black cherry and violet, enriched with notes of wet earth, undergrowth and sweet spices. On the palate it is decisive, full-bodied but agile, elegant and persistent.
Ideal in combination with baked lamb.
