Description

This Morellino di Scansano is an intense and Mediterranean red wine produced by Viticcio in the area of Poggio la Mozza, in Magliano in Tuscany. The Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes come from vineyards located at an altitude of 150 meters with a north and north-east exposure, on sandy and sandy-silty soils rich in sandstone. The management is organic and the vines are between 7 and 17 years old.

The vinification involves alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at 28-30°C and a maceration of 10 days. After malolactic fermentation in steel, the wine ages for 12 months in barriques and an additional 3-5 months in steel.

It presents a brilliant ruby red color. On the nose, it offers aromas of red fruits, plum, and violet, with notes of blond tobacco, graphite, undergrowth, and roasting. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced, with elegant tannins and a long finish, characterized by toasted tones and bitter cocoa.

Perfectly paired with roasts, mixed grills, or dishes from the Maremma tradition.
