Description
Graciano is a red wine produced by Viña Zorzal Wines, a family-run winery located in Corella, in the Ribera Baja of Navarra. The wine comes from hillside vineyards situated between the Ebro Valley and the Iberian mountain range, characterized by high altitude, continental climate, and stony soils. It is the result of a commitment to valorizing indigenous grape varieties such as Graciano, using sustainable cultivation methods.
The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a gentle maceration at 8°C. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats with delicate pump-overs. 25% of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in new, fine-grained French oak barriques, while the rest remains in steel. The wine is aged for 9 months on fine lees in medium-toast French oak barriques, then delicately clarified and lightly filtered.
It shows a clear, medium-intensity ruby color. On the nose it is intense and clean, with aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, black pepper, cedar, and earthy notes. On the palate it is dry, fresh, with soft tannins and a medium body, revealing fruity flavors, mineral accents, and a long, elegant finish.
Perfect with aged hams, stews, game, and meat dishes.
