Description
Graciano is a red wine produced by Viña Zorzal Wines, a family-run winery located in Corella, in the Ribera Baja of Navarra. The wine comes from hillside vineyards set between the Ebro Valley and the Iberian mountain range, marked by high altitude, a continental climate, and stony soils.
The grapes are hand-harvested and given a brief maceration at 8°C. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with gentle pump-overs. Twenty-five percent of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in new, fine-grained French oak barriques, while the remainder stays in steel. Maturation lasts 9 months on the fine lees in medium-toast French oak barriques. A gentle fining and light filtration follow.
It shows a clear, medium-intensity ruby color. The nose is intense and pristine, with aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, black pepper, cedar, and earthy notes. On the palate it is dry and fresh, with supple tannins and medium body, displaying fruity flavors, mineral accents, and a long, elegant finish.
Perfect with aged hams, stews, game, and meat dishes.
