Description
The Nebbiolo d’Alba “Vigna Valmaggiore” from the Bruno Giacosa estate is a prestigious Piedmontese red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the renowned Valmaggiore vineyard, located in the Roero. This vineyard is considered one of the most suitable for Nebbiolo outside the classic Barolo and Barbaresco areas, and gives rise to a wine of great elegance and aromatic finesse. The label perfectly embodies Bruno Giacosa’s winemaking philosophy, based on respect for the land, meticulous care in the vineyard, and a traditional winemaking style.
After a careful selection of the grapes, vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the aromatic integrity of the varietal. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged in large wooden barrels for about twelve months, a period during which it develops complexity, balance, and a harmonious tannic texture while maintaining the Nebbiolo’s typical freshness.
In the glass, it presents a bright ruby red color with garnet highlights. The bouquet is refined and complex, with floral aromas of rose and violet accompanied by notes of small red berries, cherry, and subtle spicy and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is elegant and structured, with fine, well-integrated tannins that support a balanced and persistent taste profile, characterized by great finesse and depth.
It pairs perfectly with roasted meats, braised dishes, game, and aged cheeses.
