Description

Giorgi 1870 Gran Cuvée Storica is a Metodo Classico Brut sparkling wine produced in Oltrepò Pavese, an area long dedicated to quality viticulture. Made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes grown between 250 and 400 meters above sea level in the most prestigious municipalities of the denomination, it represents one of the most refined and historic expressions of the Giorgi winery.

Vinification involves manual harvesting in crates at the end of August and beginning of September, with gentle pressing to obtain only the free-run juice. After static clarification, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. The "tirage" occurs in spring and the wine matures in the bottle for at least 36 months, followed by another six months of rest post-disgorgement.

It appears an intense straw yellow with golden reflections and fine, abundant, persistent perlage. On the nose, it releases a broad and enveloping bouquet, with notes of sage, mint, apricot, and vanilla, while on the palate it is dry, harmonious, and velvety, with lively nerve and long persistence.

Perfect as an aperitif, it gives its best throughout the meal thanks to its structure and complexity.
