Description

What kind of wine it is

Côte des Roses by Gérard Bertrand is a white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc grapes produced in the south of France. The style is fresh and linear, with good drinkability and a well-defined aromatic profile. The winemaking process involves the use of temperature-controlled stainless steel and a small portion in barrique, in order to maintain aromatic precision and offer a gentle complexity.

Where it comes from

This wine comes from the Pays d’Oc area in southern France and is part of the Côte des Roses range by Gérard Bertrand. The project was born within a reality founded in 1975 that brings together various Château and Domaine in the southern part of the country. The company follows the principles of biodynamics as an agronomic approach, with the aim of working in harmony with nature and enhancing the region's distinctiveness.

How it is produced

The grapes are hand-picked with particular attention to fruit quality. After gentle pressing, 10% of the must is fermented in barrique, while the remaining part is vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. This is followed by light clarification and bottling, with an approach that aims to preserve aromatic integrity and varietal character.

Tasting notes

In the glass, the wine shows a pale golden yellow color. On the nose, there are notes of tropical fruit and citrus, with a clean and immediate expression. On the palate, it is fresh and savory, with a smooth progression that highlights the Sauvignon Blanc stamp and the predominantly stainless steel vinification.

Pairings

This wine is ideal as an aperitif and pairs naturally with grilled fish and seafood, where its freshness and sapidity accompany the iodized notes. At the table, it adapts well to simple and clean dishes, in which the wine can offer aroma and lift without overpowering the main ingredients.

When to serve it

It is appreciated when you want an easy-drinking and readily enjoyable white, from aperitif to meal. It is especially suitable if the menu features grilled fish and seafood, thanks to its savory component. To enhance the citrus and tropical fruit aromas and the fresh sensation on the palate, it is best served well chilled.
