Description
Giodo's Rosso di Montalcino is a wine produced in the Montalcino area, made from Sangiovese grapes grown on medium-textured soils rich in stones, located at about 400 meters above sea level with a south-east exposure. This wine expresses a dynamic and local style, characterized by balance, freshness, and great drinkability.
The vinification takes place with maceration on the skins in steel vats for a controlled period, with alcoholic fermentation and techniques aimed at achieving balanced extraction. Ageing takes place partly in wood and partly in amphora, followed by a period in cement and then in the bottle, contributing to the development of complexity and harmony.
It shows a brilliant ruby red color. On the nose, it is fine and fragrant, with notes of ripe cherry, raspberry, and wild strawberry, accompanied by floral hints of violet, light sweet spices, and earthy undertones. On the palate, it is smooth and harmonious, with lively freshness, well-integrated tannins, and a clean, savory finish that echoes red fruit and spices.
It pairs perfectly with cured meats, pasta dishes with ragù, roast white meats, and medium-aged cheeses.
