Rosso di Montalcino DOC Ciampoleto 2014 Tenuta San Giorgio
Description
Rosso di Montalcino Ciampoleto from Tenuta San Giorgio comes from the vineyards located in Montalcino, in the hamlet of Castelnuovo dell'Abate.
It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes selected and harvested entirely by hand when fully ripe at the beginning of the month of October. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, then a second malolactic fermentation takes place. Aging takes place for the first 4 - 6 months in French oak barrels, for another 6 months in Slavonian oak barrels, and finally for a further 6 months in bottle.
Ciampoleto is characterized by an intense garnet red color with slight violet reflections. The nose is broad and intense, with hints of cherries and plums, enriched with pleasant notes of milk chocolate. On the palate it is harmonious and full, with a persistent and fruity aftertaste.
Perfect for accompanying risotto, roasted in the oven with a side dish of mushrooms, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses.
