Description

Ronco del Picchio is the Sforzato di casa Fay: a wine that comes from the highest terraces - 700 meters above sea level - and which contains the expressive density of a grape variety and a place.

We are in Valtellina, more precisely in the Valgella area, where the municipality of Teglio sees great wines and exceptional pizzoccheri. This Sforzato is made entirely of Nebbiolo grapes, harvested in mid-October and left to dry on racks until mid-December. Once pressed, they ferment in steel and then refine inside large 25 hl oak barrels and in small 500 l barrels for a period of 12 months.

Ruby red with garnet inflections. The color is deep, like the perfume. Reminiscent of ripe cherries, strawberries, morello cherries, green tea and dark chocolate. It persuades with a soft and enveloping body, finished by the tannic contrast of great elegance. Very fresh and pleasantly savory, he paints the picture of his mountain lands.

Perfect to accompany a beef fillet with Bitto sauce, or a venison cutlet with red fruits.
