Description

This Nero d'Avola is sourced from the Sallier de La Tour estate in Tasca d'Almerita, located in the Palermo municipality of Monreale.

It is the result of only Nero d'Avola grapes, whose fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature for 20 days, with maceration on its skins. After malolactic fermentation, 70% of the wine rests in steel tanks and 30% in 225 l French oak barrels from Allier and Tronçais. for about 12 months. Further ageing in the bottle follows for a period of 4 months before being placed on the market.

Intense ruby red, it offers hints of red fruits and licorice to the nose, immediately followed by elegant woody tones. On the palate it is dry and full-bodied, with well-tamed tannins thanks to the long ageing.

Excellent with structured first courses and red meats, it goes well with game and aged cheeses.
