Description
Verus Vinogradi Pinot Noir is a Slovenian red wine produced in the Štajerska region, in the Ormož area, from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. The grapes come from the slopes of Ivanjkovci and Litmerk, where the vineyards grow on clay-sandy soils of marl origin.
The harvest is manual and the vinification involves 2 days of cold maceration, followed by fermentation in an open-top fermenter with stems present and pumping over 2-3 times a day. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for about 9 months in small wooden barrels.
In the glass, it has a ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals notes of red fruit, while on the palate it offers an elegant combination of intense flavors, freshness, and pleasant acidity.
It pairs well with white meats, duck, mushrooms, delicate cold cuts, and semi-aged cheeses.
