Description

Desiderio is produced exclusively from grapes grown in the Greppo, La Selva, and Le Badelle vineyards, all owned by Avignonesi. The wine owes its name to a bull that lived at the Le Capezzina farm of Avignonesi more than a hundred years ago and was the largest bull in Tuscany at that time.

It is made from only Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, harvested between late August and early September. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 2-3 weeks. After malolactic fermentation in wood, the wine matures for 20 months in partially new oak barrels.

It is characterized by an intense ruby-red color. The nose opens with inviting aromas of cherries and blackberries, enriched with pleasant notes of eucalyptus and mint. On the palate, it is elegant, velvety, and pleasantly persistent. The wine has a well-structured and harmonious body, with beautiful vibrant acidity.

Perfect for pairing with grilled red meats and game, it is also ideal with aged cheeses.
