Description
Ferraio is a red wine produced by Viticcio, a winery located in Greve in Chianti. This wine is created from a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, cultivated at altitudes between 230 and 400 meters, on clay soils rich in alberese and colombino stones, with a south-southwest exposure.
The winemaking process involves alcoholic fermentation and maceration in stainless steel for 15-20 days at a controlled temperature between 26 and 30°C, with regular pump-overs and délestage. After malolactic fermentation, also carried out in steel, the wine ages for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.
It shows a bright ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a fruity profile with notes of blackberry and blackcurrant, enriched by floral hints of hyacinth and violet. The palate is fresh and savory, with good body and a subtle, persistent finish that's easy to enjoy.
It pairs perfectly with roasted meats, medium-aged cheeses, and flavorful pasta dishes.
