Toscana IGT Rosso Roccato 2010 Rocca delle Macie
Description
The Roccato Tuscany of the Rocca delle Macie winery was born in the heart of the Chianti Classico area.
It is produced with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperature. The wine ages in French oak barriques for a period of about 9-13 months, for 3 months in barrels and for 12 months in bottle, before being released on the market.
Roccato is characterized by a very intense ruby red color, tending to garnet with aging. The nose opens with an intense, broad and persistent bouquet, with hints of red fruits and spices ranging from cocoa to coffee and vanilla. On the palate it is pleasantly warm, balanced and with a pleasantly persistent finish.
Ideal in combination with pappardelle with wild boar ragout or with truffle tagliatelle, it is perfect in combination with wild boar alla cacciatora, stewed and peppery hare.
