Toscana IGT Tignanello 2019 Marchesi Antinori
Description
The Toscana Rosso Tenuta Tignanello dei Marchesi Antinori was born in the vineyard of the same name located in the Chianti Classico area.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes and with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, harvested and selected in the period from 20 September to 10 October. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in oak barrels and gives greater finesse and fragrance to the tannins. Subsequently the wine is aged in French and Hungarian oak barrels for a period of about 12-14 months, then the different batches, vinified separately according to the variety, are assembled to create the final blend.
The 2019 vintage
A year, the 2019, decidedly different from the previous two, due to its cooler seasonal trend and with some more precipitation, which influenced a slower ripening of the grapes, with careful pre-harvest selection in search of excellence. already in the management of the vineyard. Characteristics that are reflected in the style of the wine: the Tignanello 2019 with a less rich structure than in 2017 and 2018, but which shows all the excellence of Sangiovese del Chianti Classico. In fact, it presents the typical texture of wines with great elegance, where the main features are the beautiful verticality and finesse, the great "precision" on the palate, in a combination of grace and freshness that let us imagine a great aging potential. Another vintage in which Tignanello becomes a magnificent interpreter of the varietal expression and at the same time of the Chianti Classico territory.
With an intense and deep ruby red color, Tignanello 2019 strikes the nose for its complexity: notes of ripe red fruit, black cherry, sour cherry and black currant, combine with sweet hints of vanilla, mint and delicate sensations of white pepper and myrtle. On the palate it is rich and balanced: the soft and silky tannins are supported by an excellent freshness capable of giving length, elegance and gustatory persistence.
Perfect to combine with spaghetti with meat sauce and risotto with truffles and delicate mushrooms, it is ideal to accompany aged cheeses and second courses of game.
