Tullum Rosso Riserva DOP 2013 Feudo Antico
Description
The Rosso Riserva of the Feudo Antico winery has roots in the antiquity of the Abruzzo region. It comes from different locations located in the municipality of Tollo, a town that gives its name to the current denomination.
It consists of pure Montepulciano, grown on the local hills. The soils are defined by different structures and profiles, based on the precise location: from medium-textured, slightly limestone, to shallow marly-sandy ones. The vines have a variable age between 15 and 30 years and are mostly exposed to the South, South-East and East. In the second ten days of October the grapes are harvested and sent for vinification. Alcoholic fermentation in steel is followed by 14 months of aging in glass-cement tanks.
It appears in its deep ruby red color. The scent is complex in the layering of berries, cherries, blackberries, tobacco, leather and graphite. The taste confirms the aromatic and structural richness, appearing at the same time fresh and full. It closes in a persistence of spicy notes.
Ideal in combination with a stuffed guinea fowl
