Description
Valpolicella Classico Superiore Sant’Urbano is a red wine born in the heart of Valpolicella, in Veneto. Produced by Speri, a historic winery with deep roots in the region, this wine is an authentic expression of the local tradition. The vineyards are located on the Monte Sant’Urbano estate, in the municipality of Fumane, at an altitude between 280 and 350 meters above sea level.
Made from Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara grapes, it follows a traditional vinification process. After hand harvesting, the grapes undergo a brief drying period of about a month before fermentation. The wine matures for 24 months in French oak barrels, followed by a further six months of bottle aging, giving it structure and elegance.
Deep ruby red in color, this wine stands out for its ample and enveloping bouquet, characterized by ripe fruit and aromatic herb notes. On the palate, it is smooth and elegant, with a pronounced flavor and pleasant persistence. The spicy notes enhance the sensory profile, offering a harmonious and refined tasting experience.
Perfect paired with grilled red meats, roasts, braised dishes, and aged cheeses, it expresses at its best the character of Valpolicella and the quality viticulture practiced by the estate.
