Description

The Merlot from the Gitana winery is a Moldovan red wine made with Merlot grapes that are exclusively hand-picked and selected. This wine elegantly interprets the potential of the grape variety in an ideal soil and climate context, offering a harmonious and deep structure.

The vinification includes maceration and fermentation in oak barrels for 10-15 days, with spontaneous fermentation thanks to indigenous yeasts. Aging takes place for at least 12 months in large oak barrels from Krasnodar, in controlled humidity and temperature conditions, promoting the evolution and balance of the wine through malolactic fermentation.

It presents a dark ruby red color with purple reflections. On the nose, it releases intense and complex aromas of wild berries, including cherry, blackberry, and chocolate, accompanied by a long aromatic persistence of blueberries and licorice. The palate is balanced, with soft tannins and a long finish.

Perfect with grilled red meats, turkey, duck, or as an accompaniment to medium-aged cheeses.
