Venezia Giulia IGT Cabernet 2013 Villa De Puppi
Description
The Cabernet of Villa de Puppi was born in vineyards located on the hills of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
It is produced with Cabernet grapes, a black grape variety. The grapes are harvested late, at the end of September, to obtain a full-bodied must and with the ideal sugar content. The fermentation takes place in steel tanks at controlled temperature and, subsequently, the wine undergoes an aging of 8 - 10 months partly in steel tanks and partly in wood, where it performs malolactic fermentation before being bottled.
This wine has an intense garnet red color. The aroma is intense, spicy and balsamic, with a light and barely perceptible herbaceous note. The taste is very soft and rather full-bodied, with velvety and sweet tannins. The hints of fruit integrate with the flavor of licorice and medicinal herbs and the finish is pleasant and persistent.
Perfect in combination with first courses with meat sauce, this wine is ideal to accompany red and roasted meats.
