Description

What kind of wine it is

Vermentino di Sardegna Antonella Corda is a white wine produced in the Sardinian hinterland exclusively from Vermentino grapes. Its vinification involves the use of stainless steel tanks at strictly controlled temperatures, followed by aging on fine lees for six months. This process gives the wine a fresh, savory, and perfectly balanced character, outlining precise aromas. Its structure is defined by the prolonged resting on the lees, which makes the sip smooth and ideal for enhancing typical seafood dishes.

Where it comes from

The Antonella Corda estate is based in Serdiana, a renowned hilly area located just inland from Cagliari. The vineyards stretch across about fifteen hectares and benefit from a mild climate, constantly tempered and refreshed by gentle sea breezes that ensure excellent and even ripening. The estate’s soil features a distinctive calcareous and marly nature, a key geological factor in giving the grapes their unique saline notes. The winery operates following knowledge passed down through the family.

How it is produced

Production begins with a careful harvesting of the grapes, followed by a gentle pressing to delicately extract only the finest free-run juice. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, with close monitoring of temperature peaks to preserve maximum aromatic expression and clarity. Afterwards, before bottling, the wine matures for six months in metal vats in contact with the lees. This targeted aging is intended to increase the wine’s structural complexity.

Tasting notes

In the glass it shows a light yellow color with beautiful brightness. On the nose, it offers a pleasant and defined aromatic range, led by aromas of lime peel and grapefruit, accompanied by delicate floral hints and herbaceous notes reminiscent of the Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, lively notes of white-fleshed fruit are finely balanced by a pronounced freshness. The tasting finishes with a distinctly saline touch, in perfect harmony with the characteristics of its terroir.

Pairings

This white stands out as a perfect choice to precisely accompany light appetizers at the start of the meal. Its freshness and savory component blend seamlessly with seafood first courses for a harmonious balance. Its fresh profile supports seafood preparations with agility, never overwhelming their delicate flavors. It is an excellent solution to pair with freshly caught seafood, thanks to a gustatory tension that keeps the palate refreshed.

When to serve it

This Vermentino di Sardegna is the perfect option for moments when you want to enjoy a Mediterranean white that combines aromatic intensity, a good body, and a crisp, thirst-quenching lightness. It proves to be a reliable companion during lunches and fish-based dinners, where the balance of savory notes supports the progression of an entire menu. The production technique suggests enjoying it while its varietal aromas are still fresh, providing an experience centered on its most delicate and juicy olfactory nuances.
