Description
This Chardonnay Reserve Collection Tant Anna from Bergsig is produced in the area of the Breede River Valley, in South Africa, a region characterized by a Mediterranean climate with significant temperature fluctuations and slow grape ripening. The vineyards are located between 240 and 350 meters above sea level, on soils influenced by the Worcester fault, with sandstone hills and valley floors rich in diverse sedimentary materials.
The vinification involves harvesting at full ripeness using only the free-run juice. After a cold clarification at 10°C, the wine ferments in barrels, where it ages for 12 months before bottling. This process imparts complexity, roundness, and aromatic depth to the wine.
On the nose, it presents with citrus aromas balanced by spicy and woody notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and complex, with a creamy texture and an elegant structure that echoes the generous and welcoming character from which it takes its name.
It pairs perfectly with rich and flavorful dishes of traditional cuisine.
