grappa
Grappa is a distilled spirit made from the pomace of grapes that are harvested and vinified exclusively in Italy. Depending on the aging period, it is classified as Giovane (Young), Aromatica (Aromatic), Invecchiata (Aged), and Riserva Invecchiata (Aged Reserve). The latter two are refined for over 12 months and more than 18 months in wooden casks. Pairing grappa with food depends on its type: barrel-aged grappa pairs well with spiced or chocolate-based desserts, while aromatic varieties are best enjoyed with fruit-based desserts and semifreddos.
