Dom Pérignon 2008
a unique and unrepeatable vintage
Dom Pérignon 2008, a unique and unrepeatable vintage . It first sanctions the handover between Richard Geoffroy, the Maison's historic Chef de Cave, and the talented Vincent Chaperon, with whom he has been working side by side since 2005. Furthermore, for the first time in the history of this legendary cuvée, it has not been respected the natural chronological sequence : 2009 had in fact ended its refinement process earlier, while 2008 , a less warm year, was able to benefit from a longer refinement . The gray and veiled sky that characterized the summer only cleared at the beginning of the harvest, in mid-September, in time to give the grapes the perfect ripeness. Extreme climatic conditions, similar to those of the legendary 1966, which Geoffroy has been able to best interpret by signing an authentic masterpiece already valued between 96 and 98 points by international critics.
