St. Michael Eppan
The San Michele Appiano winery, located in the most important wine-growing town in South Tyrol, Appiano sulla Strada del Vino, has been active since 1907 thanks to the collaboration of about 340 winemaking families. The work at the helm of St. Michael-Eppan by Klaus Pardatscher and Günther Neumair is fundamental, while Hans Terzer , one of the most important winemakers in Italy , recognized as such by the prestigious Gambero Rosso guide in 1997, stands out.
The production philosophy of this mythical South Tyrolean reality aims to enhance the excellent vineyards, located in the land surrounding the towns on the outskirts of Bolzano. There is great respect for the quality grapes harvested and the desire to bring to light the particularities of the individual crus in terms of soil and microclimate. The desire to continually innovate is a characteristic of this winery, one of the first to make wine in barrique in South Tyrol.
St. Michael Eppan is an example for white wine but also produces great red wines. The top line is Sanct Valentin , obtained from the finest grapes from the best vineyards: elegant wines, in which it is possible to recognize multiple layers and dimensions from a sensorial point of view, with exquisite minerality and excellent aging capacity. This is followed by the Selezione line, in which the strengths of each single parcel, of each terroir, are highlighted for refined wines, of great complexity and with a refined bouquet. To conclude with the Classic line which instead includes genuinely South Tyrolean wines vinified in the traditional way, with great cleanliness and drinkability and an excellent value for money.
