The Impostino takes its name from the ancient post office, called "imposed" , which stood in this place of passage between the Maremma and the Tuscan hinterland, where travelers stopped for the change of mounts, as well as to refresh themselves with a hot meal and a good glass of wine .
The estate is part of the Alta Maremma Toscana , within the Montecucco area , a recently rediscovered terroir that has aroused the attention and interest of wine critics.
