Description
Cune Ecòlogico is a red wine produced in the Rioja region, made from grapes grown by the historic suppliers of the Compañia Vinicola del Norte de España in the areas of Haro and San Vicente. The vineyards, set on clay-limestone soils, use organic composts of plant origin and avoid the use of synthetic herbicides, maintaining the natural balance of the soil and the environment.
The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified separately in concrete vats. After chilling the grapes to 12ºC for 12 hours, a spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts takes place in stainless-steel tanks at 24ºC to preserve the aromas and varietal expression. The wine is aged in 300-liter oak barrels for 6 months to build volume and complexity before bottling.
The wine shows a purple color. On the nose it offers intense aromas of black fruits such as blackberry and blueberry. On the palate it opens gently, with a rounded, enveloping mid-palate, silky tannins, and a slightly tangy finish that brings freshness and a long, fruity length.
This wine is ideal to enjoy with Mediterranean dishes, pasta, rice, cured ham, cheeses, and meats of all kinds.
