Description
Cune Ecólogico is a red wine produced in the Rioja region, made from grapes grown by the long-standing suppliers of Compañia Vinicola del Norte de España in the areas of Haro and San Vicente. The vineyards, situated on clay-limestone soils, use organic plant-based compost and avoid the use of synthetic pesticides and herbicides, maintaining the natural balance of the soil and environment.
The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified separately in concrete tanks. After cooling the grapes at 12°C for 12 hours, spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts takes place in stainless steel tanks at 24°C to preserve the aromas and varietal expression. The wine is aged in 300-litre oak barrels for 6 months to develop volume and complexity before bottling.
The wine shows a purple colour. On the nose, it offers an aromatic intensity of dark fruits such as blackberries and blueberries. On the palate, it has a soft entry, a round and enveloping progression, silky tannins, and a slightly acidic finish that provides freshness and a long fruity persistence.
This wine is ideal to enjoy with Mediterranean dishes, pasta, rice, cured ham, cheeses and all kinds of meats.
