Porto Nacional Vintage 2001 Quinta do Noval

The Porto do Nacional Vintage of Quinta do Noval comes from the Douro Valley, east of Porto, in that area of Portugal which is suited for the characteristics and tradition of producing one of the most famous fortified wines in the world.

It is obtained starting from a blend of typical varieties of the area. The fermentation of the must is stopped by adding ethyl alcohol in order to preserve the necessary sugar content. Subsequently, fortified wine ages for 20 months in barrique.

At sight it shows the first signs of its density and its timbre which turns, on the nose, on notes of chocolate, made of black currant, coffee, toasted almond and a sweet spice. In the mouth it is engaging and elegant. The body is robust and enveloping, without being heavy. It is fascinating and full of taste, enhanced by the complexity of aging. Long and rich finish.

For meditation or, alternatively, to combine with dark chocolate.
