Description
Josetta Saffirio's Alta Langa is a traditional method sparkling wine produced in the municipality of Murazzano, in the Langhe region of Piedmont, from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown at about 700 meters above sea level with southern exposure. The vineyards are cultivated on soils with less than 20% clay content and a higher presence of sand, conditions that favor elegance, freshness, and aromatic finesse in the wine.
After a gentle pneumatic pressing of the grapes, the must ferments in tank for about four weeks at a controlled temperature of 18°C. Bottling for the sparkling process takes place within six months from harvest, and the wine continues its journey with a second fermentation in the bottle according to the Traditional Method, followed by a long period on the lees that contributes to the wine’s complexity and structure.
In the glass, it displays a fine and persistent perlage, accompanying an elegant and refined aromatic profile. The nose reveals delicate and fresh notes with floral nuances and fragrant hints of fruit, while the palate stands out for its balance, freshness, and a pleasant creaminess that leads to a harmonious and lingering finish.
Perfect paired with raw fish dishes, starters, and charcuterie boards.
