Description

What type of wine is it

Alta Langa Pas Dosé from Contratto is a Traditional Method sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, produced in Canelli, in the province of Asti. The long ageing on the lees for at least 30 months gives the wine a complex structure and good depth, with an agile and fresh taste. Fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature and refermentation in the bottle according to the Traditional Method enhance the aromatic precision and finesse of the perlage.

Where it comes from

Produced on the hills of Canelli, in the province of Asti, the vineyards in the area contribute to the typical characteristics of the territory. The local conditions favor a good ripening of the grapes.

How it is made

After gentle pressing and fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature, the varieties are blended. The refermentation takes place in the bottle using the Traditional Method and ageing on the lees for at least 30 months.

Tasting notes

Bright straw yellow on the eye with a fine, continuous perlage. On the nose, it offers aromas of white flowers, notes of bread crust, and hints of aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is fresh and creamy, with a balanced structure and lively acidity. The finish is long and savory, with hints of biscuit and secondary aromas.

Pairings

Its structure and freshness support seafood risotto and linguine with sea urchin.

When to serve it

It is recommended to enjoy it young to appreciate its freshness and fine perlage, with potential for further evolution thanks to the long ageing on the lees. After a few years in the cellar, it develops more toasty and complex notes. Serve at a temperature of 6-8 degrees to enhance its fragrance and savoriness.
