Südtirol - Alto Adige DOC Mezzan Blau Burgunder 2014 Erste Neue

Pinot Noir Mezzan was born in the vineyards of Erste + Neue, a very interesting and excellent reality in the South Tyrolean wine scene.

This wine, made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, first ferments traditionally in steel, to then complete the fermentation and mature in large oak barrels and barriques for 12 months. Bottle refinement follows.

Mezzan has an intense ruby color, with light garnet reflections. The nose offers a typical bouquet of the grape, with notes of cherry and subtle and elegant vanilla sensations. Of excellent structure, it shows lively tannins and an excellent persistence in the aftertaste.

To be drunk within 10 years of the year of harvest, the Mezzan is married exceptionally with dishes based on red meats, roasts and game. It does not disdain medium-aged cheeses.
