Description
What kind of wine is it
Pinot Bianco Penon by Nals Margreid is a white wine from Alto Adige made exclusively from Pinot Bianco grapes. Its profile combines freshness and structure, with a full-bodied texture that remains smooth thanks to a lively acidity and a clean finish.
Where does it come from
The grapes come from vineyards facing southeast in Alto Adige, cultivated at an altitude between 500 and 600 meters. This hilly context allows for regular ripening and a clear expression of the grape variety, with a finish that reveals a pleasant savoriness.
How is it made
Harvesting is manual and is followed by a short period of pre-fermentation maceration. After pressing, the must ferments for three weeks in wooden barrels, and the wine ages for seven months in contact with the lees, steps that help provide volume and persistence without losing vibrancy.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a straw yellow color. On the nose, green apple, wild herbs, and hawthorn can be detected. On the palate, it is dense and compact, supported by a good acidity and a refreshing sensation; the finish is slightly salty and long-lasting.
Food pairings
It pairs well with spicy oriental dishes, where freshness and savoriness keep the drink vibrant. It's also suitable for cold pasta salads, thanks to its structure and dry finish.
When to serve it
It's a recommended choice when you want a precise and complete mountain white, perfect for the table with pairings that require a balance between body and freshness. The vinification, with wood and lees contact, enhances the texture and supports a refreshing drink.
