Description
The Auxey-Duresses from Maison Ropiteau Frères originates in Burgundy, in a small denomination located between the famous villages of Meursault and Volnay. With a limited vineyard area, this territory offers wines of great typicity and excellent quality-price ratio. The vineyards face south and southeast, located between 260 and 360 meters of altitude on limestone soils with small percentages of clay.
Exclusively obtained from Chardonnay grapes, the wine is produced starting from a gentle pressing in a pneumatic press lasting two hours. After a 24-hour settling, the must ferments in barrels, about 15% of which are new. During aging, the lees are stirred weekly to maximize the wine's aromatic potential.
In appearance it shows a light gold color with greenish reflections. The nose reveals scents of fresh apple and almond. On the palate, it is smooth and balanced, enlivened by a slight acidic note and with good persistence on the finish.
It pairs perfectly with baked fish dishes, white meats in sauce, or delicate cold cuts.
