Description

Nebbiolo in purity, Barbaresco Quarantadue is a wine with a splendid ageing potential, 15 - 25 years, which comes from a clayey-calcareous soil, which enhances its flavour with small mineral notes. The vinification is carried out in steel tanks, with the maceration of the skins of for about 13 days. The fermentation temperature is controlled and maintained around 28 °C. There is a malolactic fermentation, which takes place at the end of fermentation and after racking is completed. It ages for 2 years in oak barrels and a further 6 months in bottle.

Intense garnet colour, fragrant notes of rose and violet emerge on the nose, mixed with hints of sweet spices and light cocoa. In the mouth it is harmonious, soft, embellished with noble and evident tannins that characterize its long finish.

It is the ideal wine to combine with barbecued red meats, as well as game. It will best enhance a platter of aged cheeses.
