Barbera d'Asti DOCG 2011 Cascina Giovinale
Description
This Barbera d'Asti Superiore was born in the vineyards of the Piedmontese company Cascina Giovinale, located in the splendid setting of Nizza Monferrato.
Obtained exclusively from Barbera grapes, harvested by hand in the first ten days of October, the wine is de-stemmed and then macerated in contact with the skins for about 8-10 days. This is followed by a controlled temperature fermentation process and aging in steel tanks where the product rests and stabilizes the organoleptic qualities of the grape.
Barbera d'Asti Superiore di Cascina Giovinale has a ruby red color with delicate garnet reflections. The nose has an intense aroma of ripe red and black berry fruit, with a veiled herbaceous memory that gives more complexity to the wine. In the mouth it proves ample and sapid with a very persistent finish. A good drinking wine, despite the important alcohol content.
It can accompany the whole meal very well: excellent with savory first courses, perfect with red meats and not too savory game. It also goes very well with slightly seasoned cold cuts.
