Description
The Scavino family has been cultivating vineyards in the Langhe since the early 1900s. The winery is located in Castiglione Falletto and manages an estate of about 30 hectares, with parcels also in high areas of the Barolo area: La Morra, Novello, Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo, Verduno, Roddi and Monforte d'Alba.
The Fiasco cru is located in Castiglione Falletto, at an altitude of about 260 meters above sea level with south-west exposure, on soils made up of the precious marls of Sant'Agata. It is one of the labels that best represents the history and style of Paolo Scavino's wines. At the end of the vinification with maceration on the skins, the wine ages for 12 months in French oak barriques, for 12 months in large barrels and completes the refinement in the bottle.
Of a beautiful bright garnet color, it opens with aromas of small red fruits, licorice root, officinal and balsamic herbs. With a good structure, it has refined tannins that are well integrated with a rich body, characterized by elegant and persistent aromas.
To combine with stewed meats or game.
