Barolo DOCG La Villa 2012 Seghesio
Description
Il Barolo La Villa is the spearhead of the Seghesio winery, located on the Monforte d'Alba side overlooking the Serralunga hill. The vineyard from which the Villa originates extends for about 4 hectares at an altitude of 350 meters above sea level and has a clayey soil rich in limestone marl. The vines have an average age of about 50 years, bringing a nice complexity to the grapes.
The harvest takes place manually in October. The vinification that takes place traditionally in red is completed with a medium-term aging in French oak barrels and barriques.
At sight it shows a garnet red color. The nose first introduces light and delicate floral notes of violet and rose petals, then opens up to a toasted and balsamic complexity, from which licorice and mint emerge. In the mouth the tannin is velvety and perfectly inserted in a multifaceted sip. Excellent finesse in taste persistence.
To be combined with second courses based on red meat or game.
