Description
This Barolo from Fortemasso is produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes sourced from vineyards located between 360 and 450 meters above sea level in the municipality of Monforte d’Alba. The soils, composed of sand, silt, and clay, combined with the slope of the vineyards and south-east exposure, offer the ideal conditions for a wine of great structure and longevity.
The vinification involves fermentation in stainless steel with daily pump-overs and a long submerged cap maceration for about 25-30 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 24 months in oak barrels and subsequently in bottle for another 14-16 months before being released to the market.
In appearance, it is ruby red with garnet reflections. The bouquet is broad and defined, with notes of plum, cherry, rose, and vanilla. On the palate, it is full, savory, and harmonious, with a long finish that echoes the cherry already perceived on the nose.
Excellent with fresh egg pasta, medium-aged cheeses, and roasted meats.
